Hello!
Freshers is now over and despite our best efforts meeting have been rather fruitless. We understand that all socs and clubs may also run on Wednesday afternoons and have had a few people email Big Sam with their apologies. To this end we would once again like to ask that you email us with when you would like to meet. As it seems we may look at running each weekly session on a different day, to attempt to accommodate everyone’s needs.
Please can you email Big Sam at secretary@uwefsclub.co.uk with when would be easiest for you. Ideally, we’d like to run two afternoon ’study sessions’ in which anybody can come along with anything they wish to ask of an academic fashion and we’ll do our best to help you or point you in the right direction. These will be based on UWE Frenchay campus. Then one social and one OTHER session which hopefully will be more fun-based! All of the above is PER MONTH.
Please be aware that ALL member submissions need to be in by the 31th October otherwise you CANNOT be involved the club activities/take advantage of anything we offer, such as attending conferences (this is due to insurance purposes). We cannot keep take memberships after 31st of October. If you have not paid the memebership fee by then, you will be removed from the mailing list.
People who have paid - well done! However, please fill in your next of kin details otherwise we can’t add you to our trips!
The first conference we looking into attending is in Dundee in December. We in the process of working out logistics now. We’ll keep you updated!
The club newsletter is due to start as of 31st October, when we have confirmed all official members so watch this space! If you would like to submit a piece to the members submissions section of the newsletter, please send them to vicepresident@uwefsclub.co.uk by 25th October.
Please remember to check out our website: www.uwefsclub.co.uk for updates, should you wish to join so you can make comments. To post please email Little Sam at treasurer@uwefsclub.co.uk who can make this possible and email you back with the details.
Lastly, please email us with any of your suggestions for what you want from the club! So far, we’re looking into extra lab sessions for January for 1st years Crime Scene Science exam practice which were requested, non-curricular practicals, and some court visits to increase knowledge of local interesting ongoing cases. N.B. This can be arranged to coincide with 2nd years Science to Court to help them!
More to come soon!
Becky, Abby, Big Sam and Little Sam
